Indian Heros and Heroines - Freedom Fighters Dr Annie Besant

We read about Indian Freedom Movement and the story of Gandhi. Its amazing how some leaders we do not know much in history awoke people of Indian from 200 years of slavery to the British to even desire to be free.

Some of these people were before Gandhi, some did not follow Gandhi in his Satyagraha as it seemed too good to be true to be able to fight the British army with non-violence.

One such person is Dr.Annie Besant, a foreigner who adpater India as homeland and worked for 40 years dedicating her life to set the stage for Indian Independence.

I was blessed to study at the Besant Theosophical Society School in Chennai in the Kalashetra Campus and learnt about Dr.Annie Besant in good light.
