Indian Democracy - Gandhian Foundation from his close associates

Indian Leaders worked to build India with Management and Vision, couple decades before independence, so that India could trive as a democracy right after independence.

I find this very fascinating because these are conscious actions taken by great men who cared deeply for their country, hashed out several ideas from different backgrounds and worked as a team and laid the foundation for the democracy of India we take for granted. It was done by men and women who were rich in soul-power, but were slaves of British India with no specific resources or institutional support.

These are not addressed in Gandhis biographies but can be noticed in the actions and lives of his close associates.

Here, I attempt to collect such stories together to get an idea of the work before Indian Independence and shortly after Independence.

Lets start by looking at the lives of the close associates of Mahatma Gandhiji as Gandhiji sought out talented young men in several fields and helped them with initial projects to get started and instilled his social values in them to work for Indias poor.
