These questions are rather difficult for a II grade student. There are two major difficulties that a student is likely to face in trying to memorize the family trees in Mahabharata : 1) The kids are unfamiliar with the names and most of the names are difficult to remember (most have complex spellings) ; 2) It is way too much information for a 7-8 year old to retain (information overload).

An average II grade student studying in elementary school in the US is never exposed to so much and such complex reading material and almost never asked to memorize such information. In view of that this kind of information becomes very difficult for kids here.

I think the teaching of Mahabharata should have been limited to the basic story with perhaps just the names of the 5 Pandavas and 4-5 other important characters. The sheets provided to the kids in Culture 2A are complex even for an adult.

First of all, thank you for the test questions. As a parent, it gives me a place to go to to get such information.

Secondly, since the Mahabharath can be broken down into short stories, do you think questions regarding the morals related to each of the stories can be appropritae for these children?
Mahabharath is not about just learning the characters - it s about learning what the characters did, why they might have done so, and what they might have learnt from it - how our chidren can use these morals in our daily life.
thank you for considering this feedback.
